Enterprise and Education: The enterprise license is volume licenses for large companies and is also used in a small version in some devices such as terminals or cash machines. The Education version is aimed at employees and students of research institutions.

Windows 11 Home vs Windows 11 Pro - these are the similarities
They offer all versions: The following functions support all Windows 11 versions. A home version is installed on any computer with Windows 11:
- The new Microsoft Edge Browser
- Energy options where you can set up a power saving mode for your laptop.
- Link your smartphones with Windows 11
- The voice control of Windows 11.
- Windows Defender, Windows Firewall and the child safety device also offer both versions. Also "Secure Boot" ability is included with home and pro.
Windows 11 Home offers you all basic features that also offers you any other Windows version. Also from the possibility to use Android apps on Windows 11, Windows 11 Home benefits also.
In the following section we explain the differences between Windows 11 Home and Pro.
Windows 11 Home vs Windows 11 Pro - these are the differences
What does Windows 11 Pro? The PRO version depends mainly on professional users and provides many additional functions. So you have it easier or other tools available as an administrator of a large network.
The first and most obvious difference is the price. Because Windows 11 Pro costs significantly more than Windows 11 Home with 199.99 euros, here you pay only 139.99 euros. Home or Pro is often preinstalled on many computers.
Another difference is that your Windows 11 Pro can still create with an offline account (local account). So you do not need an internet connection for the setup. An Internet connection is still necessary for the subsequent activation.
Most device management features are not available in Windows 11 Home. On the other hand, Windows 11 Pro supports things like Group Policy with which administrators can configure specific policies for devices in one step. There are also Windows Update for Business, which allows companies to control how updates are distributed to their users to avoid unexpected problems.
Windows 11 Pro offers additional security and corporate functions
The PRO version offers a number of additional functions that serve mainly of safety and support large companies that have many computers in their own network. The most important functions we count on here.
These security features offers Windows 11 Pro:
- An advanced remote desktop function. So you can access a computer in the distance.
- The Visualization Technology Hyper-v. This allows you to run other operating systems as a virtual machine in a window.
- The encryption technology bitlocker. This allows you to encrypt your boot drive or other devices.
- With "Windows Sandbox" you can just start a virtualized Windows 11 version and test programs and unknown things here. Incidentally, for the Windows virtual Windows, you do not need any additional Windows license.
- WDAG or "Windows Defender Application Guard". This allows you to use your browser in a kind of sandbox.
With Windows 11 Pro, you can use more extensive hardware
As with the earlier versions of Windows, the Home version has a few limitations if your hardware wants to use. But these "restrictions" are likely to affect the fewest users:
- You can now build up to 2 TB of memory instead of 128 GB of RAM.
- Windows 11 Pro also supports a maximum of 2 full-fledged processors.
- Windows 11 Pro also supports 128 CPU cores. The home version supports a maximum of 64.
Does the Gamer play a role? With the pro version, hardware restrictions fall away so that you can use 2 TB of work memory or use processors with 128 cores. For the vast majority of users, however, the restriction of 128 GB of work memory in the home version is not a hurdle that will be easily achieved.
With Windows 7, this still played a bigger role, because Windows 7 Home Premium supported / addressed only a maximum of 16 GB of memory. Only with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit this limit was increased to 192 GB of RAM.
Windows 11 Pro - especially professional users benefit from it
Who benefits from Pro? The PRO version is aimed primarily at companies and professional users. This applies in particular to persons who need to control approximately large networks or use encryption tools.
For whom is that less interesting? In particular, many corporate functions that only offers the PRO version are not or hardly interesting for everyday uses and gamers. As a gamer, however, you will either never use or do not even know it.
For most gamers, Windows 11 Home is more than sufficient
With Windows 11 Home, you will get all basic and important features that provide any Windows. These include, for example, the new Edge browser, the Game Mode and also DirectX 12. Also cross-platform functions with your XBox are also included in the home edition.
All other features that want to convince Microsoft Gamers of Windows 11 are also included in the home version.
Which version of Windows is the best for me? Whoever uses his PC private and playing, can resort to the home version. The extra charge is likely to be worthwhile for private users and players in most cases. Any performance differences and higher FPS is not available between the Windows 11 versions.
If you will soon buy a new gaming PC or want to acquire a license, then the PC does not necessarily have to have a pro version on board. A home license is enough for most gamers.
